M11 Standard vs Waterproof-Housing Package: Which Should You Buy?
Choose the standard Bextgoo M11 for everyday POV recording when you do not need the separately supplied dive housing. Choose the M11 waterproof-housing package when that included housing is part of your planned use. Both listings include a 64GB card, but their listed lens angles and maximum runtimes differ. The shared M11 name does not mean identical specifications or box contents.
This guide compares the two current Bextgoo packages so you can buy the one you actually need. It is based on their product listings, not a side-by-side laboratory test.
The package differences at a glance
| What to compare | Standard M11 | With housing |
|---|---|---|
| Listed lens angle | 140° | 150° |
| Video and processing | 4K, EIS and HDR | 4K, EIS and HDR |
| Included storage | 64GB card | 64GB card |
| Battery | 1200mAh; up to 240 minutes stated maximum | 1200mAh; up to 220 minutes stated maximum |
| Built-in display | 1.47 inches | 1.47 inches |
| Water use | Bare camera is IP65; this is not the separate housing bundle | Bare camera is IP65; supplied housing is listed for up to 100 ft / 30 m when correctly fitted and used as instructed |
| Phone connection | Nearby WiFi app connection | Nearby WiFi app connection |
The runtime figures are stated maxima, not guaranteed recording times at 4K. Settings, temperature, WiFi use and battery condition matter. These figures are not a controlled test showing that one package lasts a fixed amount longer than the other.
When the standard M11 makes sense

For a city walk, a dry-weather ride or travel clips from your own perspective, start by checking the standard M11 package and current price. Its 140° view, display and included card provide the main recording setup without choosing the separate dive-housing package.
Decide where you will attach the camera before ordering. A chest, clothing or bicycle position changes the view and vibration. Confirm that the attachment you need is included or available for that exact package, then make a short stationary test. The POV mounting guide helps you plan the position.
When to choose the housing package

If your plan includes underwater footage, compare the M11 package with the supplied waterproof housing. It lists a 150° lens and a housing rated for up to 100 ft / 30 m. That depth statement applies to the compatible, correctly closed housing—not to the exposed camera.
Check the housing instructions, seal and closure before water use. Keep charging connections dry. The bare camera's IP65 rating is not an immersion rating. Read the IP65 and waterproof-housing guide before planning a swim or snorkeling session. Do not assume a separately sourced case fits because its name includes “M11.”
What does not change: WiFi, storage and ongoing costs
Both cameras use a nearby WiFi connection for supported app preview, playback and transfers. This is not a cellular connection for watching the camera from another city. Neither package requires a camera SIM data renewal for its local recording and nearby WiFi workflow. Uploading clips through your phone can still use your phone's internet service.
Both listings include a 64GB card. You do not need to add another card just because you want to start recording, but you do need a backup routine. Recording duration depends on the video settings and bitrate; a capacity figure alone does not establish a fixed number of hours. Save important footage before loop recording overwrites it. Follow the card and backup checklist.
Budget separately for any additional compatible mounts, replacement storage or other accessories you actually need. Check each product page for current price and contents rather than assuming every item in a lifestyle scene is included.
A practical decision before checkout
- Name the main activity. Everyday walking and cycling without immersion point toward the standard package; planned water use makes the correct housing essential.
- Check the attachment. Confirm the required mount and how you will secure it. Set it up while stationary, before riding.
- Choose by the package, not just the model name. Compare the lens, housing, included card and current price on the exact listing.
- Plan a short test before the trip. Record, play back and transfer a clip using your intended settings. Check framing, vibration and sound.
Common questions
Is the 150° package automatically better?
No. A wider listed angle does not prove better detail, stabilization or low-light quality. Choose the package for your framing and housing needs. Read our EIS and HDR explanation to understand what those features do.
Can I get the standard package now and add any M11 housing later?
Do not assume compatibility from the model name alone. Ask Bextgoo with the exact camera and proposed housing before buying an accessory. If you already know you need the supplied dive housing, compare the complete housing package first.
Can either M11 replace a 4G security camera?
These M11 packages are for local activity recording and nearby app use. They are not a substitute for a cellular surveillance camera with remote access. The M11 WiFi and offline-recording guide explains the connection.
